GMC Service Intervals

GMC Vehicle Maintenance Schedule

One of the biggest parts of vehicle ownership is making sure that your car is well maintained and routinely serviced. Every vehicle has many moving parts, from the tires and brakes to the interior technological features and safety systems, and needs to be regularly serviced to ensure everything works the way it should. While some services are as needed, multiple regular maintenance items are recommended at specific mileage intervals. Every model has its own set of recommended service requirements, but most follow similar guidelines.

Some common GMC service maintenance items may include:

  • Change Engine Oil and Filter
  • Replace Engine Air Filter
  • Inspect Tire Condition and Pressure
  • Inspect Brake System and Replace as Needed
  • Replace Spark Plugs and Cabin Air Filter
  • Replace Battery
  • Replace Windshield Wipers and Fluid
  • And Much More!

Every 3,000 to 7,500 Miles

At every 7,500 miles or every six months, you'll want to have your vehicle scheduled for a routine check-up. This maintenance should include a tire rotation, oil and filter change, safety inspection, and fluid check. The technicians will also look for any potential issues that can be addressed in advance.

Every 15,000 to 30,000 Miles

In this interval, there are a number of items that should be inspected and/or replaced. At 15,000 miles, replacing the air filter and power steering fluid is a must. You should also inspect the battery, coolant, HVAC system, brake pads, and suspension features.

Every 35,000 to 50,000 Miles

The next level has a few larger replacements. These include replacing the battery at 35,000 miles, spark plug and wires at 40,000 miles, and checking the ignition system and suspension to make sure they're working right.

Every 60,000 Miles

Once your vehicle reaches 60,000 miles, you'll want to have your brake pads and fluid replaced, along with your power steering fluid, coolant, radiator hoses, and timing belt. You should also inspect the tires, suspension system, and HVAC.

Of course, you'll want to continually perform the additional routine services throughout your vehicle ownership process. For example, an oil change should be done every 7,500 miles, so at 15,000 miles, you'll also need to add an oil change and tire rotation to your 15,000 to 30,000 mile list. Every vehicle also has its own service recommendations and service interval timeline. To know what your specific service interval recommendation is, check with your car's owner's manual or contact our team of GMC technicians at Eynon GMC.
